ETHIOPIA & ERITREA STILL NEED OUR HELP
 
From 1962 to 1976, and again from 1995 to 1999 more than 2,500 Peace Corps Volunteers worked in Ethiopia and Eritrea, countries that remain among the poorest in the world.
      In 2003 the non-profit Ethiopia & Eritrea RPCVs (EERPCV) established the Legacy Program to allow returned Peace Corps Volunteers from these two countries to continue their legacy of service and assistance. 
      Through 2007 the Legacy Program has raised over $70,000 for education and health projects in Ethiopia and Eritrea. You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to one or more of the Legacy projects. Your gift may be made in your name, anonymously, or in honor or memory of a friend, family member or other loved one.
      Donations to the Legacy projects summarized below can make a real difference; a US dollar still goes a long way in Ethiopia and Eritrea. For more information on the projects and how to contribute see below:
 
 
Borana Student Advancement
Benefit: Increase enrollment and graduation of disadvantaged students, particularly girls, in southern Ethiopia. To help click here.
 
Ethiopia Reads in Awassa
Benefit: The newest Legacy project operates a literacy center in Awassa. Details will be posted shortly.
 
HIV/AIDS Books for 200 Communities
Benefit: Help rural healthcare providers in Eritrea and Ethiopia learn about and deal with HIV/AIDS. To help click here.
